Citizen Journalism?

Citizen Journalism is a fairly straightforward concept, which is pretty self-explanatory. It refers to the reporting of information by private individuals as opposed to a professional journalist. Like professional journalism, citizen journalism can take many forms, whether it is text, pictures, audio or video and its content can range anywhere from global issues to the latest happening in fashion.

The most accessible medium to find citizen journalism is through the Internet. With the development of the Internet people have the ability to communicate with people all around the world to a much larger audience. This is done through video streaming like YouTube, Podcasts, blogging, or the infinite other possibilities to communicate via the web. Though of all the various ways to communicate a message, “blogging” is the most heavily utilized tool on the net for citizen journalists.
